Father/Daughter announces joint label partnership with Polyvinyl Record Co.
Posted on May 4th, 2022
We're thrilled to announce our partnership with the absolute legends at Polyvinyl! As part of the deal, Polyvinyl has acquired an equity stake in the beloved San Francisco based label, allowing the two labels to work together while Father/Daughter retains autonomy over all creative decisions.
Since 2018, Polyvinyl has made similar equity investments in indie labels Double Double Whammy (based in Brooklyn, NY) and Keeled Scales (based in Austin, TX). Each label remains separately and independently operated with complete autonomy and creative control.
Speaking about the new partnership, Father/Daughter founder, Jessi Frick, shared “To say we're excited to partner with Polyvinyl would be an understatement. As Father/Daughter continues to evolve, we're always looking for innovative ways to connect our artists' work with as many listeners as possible.” Adding, “This union will allow us to tap into this indie label powerhouse's 25+ years of experience, not to mention they are some of the kindest, most genuine people in the industry. It's also very refreshing, as a woman-owned business, to be partnering with a partly women-owned label!”
Additionally, Polyvinyl co-founder, Matt Lunsford, shared “Polyvinyl has grown and changed in many ways since our start in 1996, but our commitment to supporting the indie ecosystem we're a part of has always remained the same.” Lunsford adds, “In that spirit, it is an honor to be investing in Jessi and partnering with Father/Daughter. Jessi clearly shares our independent ethos, having already championed dozens of artists and built up Father/Daughter's fantastic catalog over the past decade. We cannot wait to roll up our sleeves together and dive into what's next!”
